Marine Technical Superintendent
Desired Skills and Experience
Degree in Mechanical Engineering with at min 5-8 yrs relevant experience in similar position
Possess relevant sea-going work experience as Chief Engineer/Marine Engineer with minimum class 2 certification or equivalent with in experience in AHTS, Offshore Supply/Offshore tug/ Dive Support vessels.
Those with DP vessel experience will be highly advantageous.
Ensuring Company owned and managed vessels are operated in a safe, efficient and economical manner and in full compliance with Class and Statutory regulations.
Liaising with the Port Captain and vessel Masters with reference to Certification, Safety Equipment and Loose Lifting Gear etc.
Liaising with the Admin Department regarding all aspects of travel, crew changes and other Personnel issues in conjunction with the Vessel Master. Monitor crew "overlap days‟.
Monitor crew compliance with STCW‟95/2010, MLC 2006 and other training requirements.
Ensure that Vessels Planned Maintenance System (Deck Dept.) is being operated and reported in the manner prescribed in the company‟s QA system and is in compliance with the ISM Code and MLC 2006.
Liaising with the Purchasing Manager to ensure timely delivery of supplies, and that purchase requisitions are being tracked and expedited in a timely manner. Bringing to the attention of the General Manager & Director of Operations-Business Development (DOBD) any items which have the potential to disrupt operations. Ensure sufficient spares are carried.
Ensuring that all mandatory procedures i.e. Tool box talks, Risk assessments, permits to work, hot work permits etc, are used effectively and filed for audit purposes.
Preparing vessel repair specifications in association with the Technical superintendent.
Ensure that vessels carry the required publications, procedures, operational manuals, and other documentation required by Flag State and other regulatory bodies, and that these are updated as required.
Ensure that the fleets‟ DP equipment is in a fully operational state of readiness at all times.
Attend Annual DP Trials & FMEA audits as required.
Maintain the Vessel technical database for the fleet.
Ensure IMCA guidelines and “best industry practises” are adhered to at all times, with regard to vessel operations, equipment and personnel requirements.
Assist and attend class surveys.
Ensuring compliance where appropriate with the Company‟s Procedures and Policies in accordance with the requirements of the ISM Code and ISO 9001:2008 ISO14001:2004 & ISO18001:2007 Standards, ISPS code.
Participating in vessel inspections and presentations as per schedule within the annual QHSE Plan, and providing accurate reports indicating vessels current equipment, machinery, structural and operational status.
Assisting with investigating any accidents or incidents and preparing reports in conjunction with the DOBD and QHSE Manager.
Participating in the S.T.O.P Card & S.U.O.R program and stopping and reporting any unsafe acts, but also reporting on good safe working practices observed.
Actively promoting safety awareness among all Marine Crew.
Monitor the vessel Safety Committees and respond to Vessel Safety Meeting Minutes.
Advising the DOBD of any training needs identified that could improve efficiency.
Monitor the performance of sub-contractors services provided to vessel operations (e.g. consumables, catering) and liaising with sub-contractor to report, discuss and implement any corrective actions considered necessary.
Undertaking visits offshore to vessels on location as required by the Director of Operations -BD.
Ensuring that end of month vessel paperwork is reviewed and outstanding issues acted upon.
Assisting in the internal and external audits of vessel owned, managed and operated by the Company.
Desired Skills and Experience
Unlimited Master Mariner‟s license in compliance with STCW II/2;
Unlimited D.P. Certificate
Minimum 2 years of sea experience as Master of offshore support vessels;
Minimum 1 years shore experience as Port Captain or Marine Superintendent on Offshore Support Vessels.
DP experience essential.
STCW Certificates must be valid at all times.
Good Communication skills in English are a must.
Good Interpersonal skills

Position available to Nigerian nationals only
Salary range - $3,500.00 - $4,500.00 per month/naira equivalent
